Sociolinguistics Variation Study

Updated: 7/6/2012 – Features revised project after receiving feedback from two professors in May 2012.

The empirical sociolinguistics project featured in my MATESOL portfolio began in Fall 2010. The slideshow included here features my initial findings that I presented. Based on feedback from my peers and professor, I submitted a final project. During portfolio semester (Spring 2012), I chose to improve and refine my project for my MATESOL portfolio. This project, more so than others, remains cemented in my memory in terms of trying to condense the rich data into a focused project. What I didn’t realize then was that the effort would still prove to be worth it as I am using it as a sample of my academic skills and for pedagogical implications. Then, two portfolio readers helped me change the “final” draft one more time!
